Wool is an amazing fiber! Besides being beautiful and fun to handcraft with, it is naturally insulative and very durable. The felted wool items below are each crocheted, and then felted by a process of hot water and agitation. Felting causes the wool fibers to interlock and compact, reducing the original size by 30% or more. The trivets and rug mugs are two layers of crocheting and reversible (pattern on one side, solid color on the other). They are very dense, thick cushions and will protect countertops, table and fine furniture from hot or cold drinks, hot pots, and rough pottery bases.
